Pina is an exhibition space in print a commissioning platform that collaborates with artists to create exhibitions that exist solely within the pages of a magazine.

Each issue invites artists to construct immersive worlds across its pages, offering readers the experience of navigating an exhibition in a portable format. Positioned between literary and contemporary arts publishing, Pina pairs these projects with short fiction, using storytelling as a tool to expand how exhibitions can be imagined and experienced.

In this issue, artist Gala Porras-Kim contributes a project that reflects her ongoing research-based practice, which examines the politics of museum collections, cultural heritage, and the afterlives of objects. Her work often engages with questions of preservation, interpretation, and the institutional frameworks that shape how histories are told.

The magazine’s name derives from pinax (a painted board or tablet) and shares its conceptual roots with the pinacoteca a home for images. Like a white cube gallery, Pina centers on the encounter, but reimagined in a printed, accessible form.
